Marana Energy

Marana Energy delivers integrated solutions across oil and gas, power and renewable energy. Its teams combine technical depth with project and commercial management experience, enabling them to develop infrastructure, scale ventures and structure partnerships that advance sustainable energy outcomes in Bangladesh and the region.

Marana Energy brings together geoscientists, engineers, economists and project managers who have spent decades working in the country's energy and resources sectors. They have delivered complex supply and turnkey contracts, built processing and transmission capacity and supported the development of new energy frontiers.

Team members have contributed to milestone national projects, including the country's first oilfield development at Haripur and the first offshore platform at Sangu. Building on this foundation, Marana Energy provides engineering, procurement and construction of gas processing plants and pipelines, supplies drilling materials, rigs, line pipes and seismic services, and delivers consultancy, logistics and local engineering support to national and international operators across upstream and downstream activities.

With strong regulatory familiarity and deep local networks, Marana Energy is positioned to expand further through international joint ventures, reducing risk and accelerating execution for partners entering the sector.

Oil & Gas

Marana Energy has established itself as a leading provider of oil and gas solutions in Bangladesh, with deep expertise spanning the entire value chain from exploration to production and distribution.

Our team of geoscientists, engineers, and project managers have been instrumental in landmark national energy projects. We played a key role in the country's first oilfield development at Haripur and contributed to the first offshore platform at Sangu, demonstrating our capability to execute complex energy infrastructure projects.

Marana Energy provides comprehensive services including:

  • Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC): Gas processing plants and pipeline infrastructure
  • Supply Chain Management: Drilling materials, rigs, line pipes, and seismic equipment
  • Technical Services: Consultancy, logistics, and local engineering support for upstream and downstream operations
  • Project Management: Turnkey contracts and complex supply agreements
  • Partnership Development: International joint ventures to reduce risk and accelerate execution

With strong regulatory knowledge and extensive local networks, Marana Energy supports both national and international operators in navigating Bangladesh's energy sector, from exploration activities through to production and distribution.

Power

Engineers within Marana Energy have played a central role in the evolution of captive and grid-connected power in Bangladesh. Their work includes the design, construction and operation of high-performance gas-engine power plants, including a 10 MW facility developed in partnership with Rolls-Royce Power Venture, UK.

The teams support the operation and management of power plants, substations and transmission lines, and coordinate the supply and installation of transformers, switchgear, conductors and major electrical equipment. In collaboration with Mahkota Technologies, they delivered the country's first 230 kV substation for PGCB, setting benchmarks that continue to inform new projects.

Marana Energy was among the first organisations in Bangladesh to align captive power plant operation and maintenance with ISO 9001 standards, reinforcing a reputation for disciplined technical management.

Our power division capabilities include:

  • Power Plant Development: Design, construction, and operation of gas-engine power plants
  • Grid Infrastructure: Substations and transmission line development and management
  • Equipment Supply: Transformers, switchgear, conductors, and major electrical equipment
  • Operations & Maintenance: ISO 9001 certified power plant management services
  • Technical Excellence: Benchmark-setting projects including Bangladesh's first 230 kV substation

Renewable Energy

Marana Energy's renewable energy work is led by engineers, planners and project developers who understand both the technical realities of clean power and the regulatory and commercial environments in which these projects must operate. The team focuses on translating renewable potential into bankable, grid-ready and community-aligned infrastructure.

Its work spans solar, hybrid systems and emerging renewable technologies, with attention to site assessment, grid integration, storage, and long-term operation and maintenance. Rather than treating renewables as standalone installations, Marana integrates them into broader energy systems, aligning generation with demand, resilience and environmental performance.

By combining local execution capability with international technology partners, Marana Energy supports the development of renewable projects that reduce dependence on fossil fuels while strengthening energy security. Its approach prioritises durability, lifecycle efficiency and compliance, ensuring that renewable assets remain viable contributors to the national energy mix over time.
