Marana Energy

Marana Energy delivers integrated solutions across oil and gas, power and renewable energy. Its teams combine technical depth with project and commercial management experience, enabling them to develop infrastructure, scale ventures and structure partnerships that advance sustainable energy outcomes in Bangladesh and the region.

Marana Energy brings together geoscientists, engineers, economists and project managers who have spent decades working in the country’s energy and resources sectors. They have delivered complex supply and turnkey contracts, built processing and transmission capacity and supported the development of new energy frontiers.

Team members have contributed to milestone national projects, including the country’s first oilfield development at Haripur and the first offshore platform at Sangu. Building on this foundation, Marana Energy provides engineering, procurement and construction of gas processing plants and pipelines, supplies drilling materials, rigs, line pipes and seismic services, and delivers consultancy, logistics and local engineering support to national and international operators across upstream and downstream activities.

With strong regulatory familiarity and deep local networks, Marana Energy is positioned to expand further through international joint ventures, reducing risk and accelerating execution for partners entering the sector.

Power

Engineers within Marana Energy have played a central role in the evolution of captive and grid-connected power in Bangladesh. Their work includes the design, construction and operation of high-performance gas-engine power plants, including a 10 MW facility developed in partnership with Rolls-Royce Power Venture, UK.

The teams support the operation and management of power plants, substations and transmission lines, and coordinate the supply and installation of transformers, switchgear, conductors and major electrical equipment. In collaboration with Mahkota Technologies, they delivered the country’s first 230 kV substation for PGCB, setting benchmarks that continue to inform new projects.

Marana Energy was among the first organisations in Bangladesh to align captive power plant operation and maintenance with ISO 9001 standards, reinforcing a reputation for disciplined technical management.

The team designs multilingual workflows drawing on open-source intelligence, media archives, structured datasets and field reporting. It builds dashboards, briefs and reporting systems that support reputational strategy, public communication planning, campaign impact measurement, crisis preparedness and long-term narrative positioning.

By combining editorial judgement with data and AI-assisted analysis, Marana Media enables clients to move from reactive communication to evidence-led strategy, aligning messaging with audience response, policy context and market realities across Bangladesh and international markets.

Marana Technologies

Marana Technologies has a Master Agreement with Kymeta Corporation which is commercializing software-enabled metamaterials-based electronic beamforming antennas and terminals for satellite communications.

Kymeta's new mTenna suite of satellite antennas are ultra-thin and use a holographic approach to electronically acquire, steer and lock a beam to a satellite. The flat, lightweight and cost effective satellite tracking antennas are designed to work seamlessly for communication in high-volume markets where traditional satellite antennas are not currently practical or feasible, such as automotive, maritime, and aviation.

Kymeta Corporation was founded in August 2012 after spinning out of Intellectual Ventures. Kymeta announced commercial availability of its first products—the mTennau7 antenna subsystem module (ASM) and KyWay terminal—in March 2017, which are the first metamaterials-based products to be successfully commercialized.

Kymeta has also partnered with Intelsat, operator of the world's first Globalized Network, to offer KALO satellite services, which can be bundled with all Kymeta products. Kymeta has also raised almost $200 million in funding, the company's largest investors include Bill Gates, Liberty Global, Lux Capital, and Osage University Partners.

Marana Technologies has entered into multinational partnerships with Doshion, the Allahabad-based water management company and Veolia; the French pioneer in water supply and management services which provides cutting edge water solutions to the Bangladesh market.
